Day with a Knight
seminar series
From time to time, Green Knight Academy is fortunate enough to host a Saturday seminar
with a great practitioner of our art as the instructor; we call these classes "A Day with a
Knight."  We've already had some amazing instruction for some of the great knights of our
modern day, with more on the way.  Here are some highlights from two recent Day with
Knight seminars:
Day with a Knight II: July 14, 2007
Duke Sir Paul of Bellatrix
Duke Sir Paul of Bellatrix has been a martial artist for his entire adult life, and has trained in medieval sword combat since 1970.
Above left, Paul teaches Josh (left) and Colleen a technique for sword swings while Craig looks on.  Above right, Paul instructs
Caterina in proper training technique with shields.  Note Paul's coat-of-arms is visible in the Arms of Heroes display on the wall
behind him as he teaches.
Day with a Knight I: May 12, 2007
Viscount Sir Richard d'Camville
Sir Richard is a good friend of our school, and has been a teacher and practitioner of medieval martial arts for more than twenty
years.  He has won the heavy division of our own Tournament of the Grail twice (!), and always leaves us better fighters than we
were when he visits.  In our first Day with a Knight seminar, he taught the basics of combat found in a medieval fighting manual
by an Italian author called Fiore, and showed us how to adapt Fiore's concepts and techniques into our own styles.
